Acting Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu announced that she was the victim of an attack on her Facebook account, which she considers a coordinated action aimed at limiting the distribution of her public messages.
The incident occurred shortly after it was discovered that the Facebook page of PSD president Sorin Grindeanu was being followed by thousands of fake accounts with Vietnamese-sounding names.
Gheorghiu stated that the attack was carried out by a network of 3,500 fake accounts, mentioning that, in her opinion, its purpose is to undermine her credibility in the digital space, especially after she advocated for the removal of privileges from state-owned companies.
She emphasized that she informed Meta about the incident and requested the removal of the fake accounts.
