The population in the northern area of Tulcea County received a new RO-Alert message on Monday morning, at around 6:55 a.m., regarding the possibility of drones or drone fragments falling, against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine.
The message, sent as an extreme alert, urges residents to remain calm and seek shelter in safe places for the next 90 minutes. Authorities recommend that, in the absence of a shelter, people remain inside their homes, away from windows and exterior walls.
The warning was issued in the context of the risks associated with Russian attacks on Ukraine and incidents in which drones or fragments thereof may reach the vicinity of Romanian territory.
Since the beginning of the year, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations has sent more RO-Alert messages in Tulcea County than the number of extreme alerts issued nationwide, for the same reason, during the period 2023–2025.
