MoD: The drone from Saint George was shot down by the same Romanian F-16 pilot who neutralized the target from Buzău.

The Ministry of National Defense announced that the drone that entered Romanian airspace on Saturday morning was detected at 08:22 and neutralized by two F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft in Air Police service.

According to the MoND, the target was shot down in safety conditions in an unpopulated area near the border with Ukraine, and military teams will conduct checks in the impact area.

The MoND specified that the mission was carried out by the same F-16 aircraft involved in the intervention on Friday in Buzău County, and the Romanian pilot who shot down the drone at that time also participated in the operation on Saturday in Sfântu Gheorghe.

The ministry stated that it is continuously monitoring the situation in the airspace in coordination with allied structures.
