On the night of July 30 to 31, at 02:30, the radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) identified a group of aerial targets near the river border with Ukraine.
As a result, two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft of the British Royal Air Force, stationed at Borcea Air Base 86, were launched at 02:41 to monitor the situation. The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, which activated measures to alert the population in Tulcea County through the RO-Alert message.
After the targets disappeared from the radar systems, explosions were reported on Ukrainian territory. The air alert was lifted at 03:15, without the targets entering national airspace.
