PSD MP Mihai Fifor called on Friday for dialogue among all responsible political forces before the parties discuss snap elections. He argues that Romania urgently needs a fully empowered government capable of managing the economic and political crisis.
Fifor says the first agreement between the parties should concern changing the direction of governance. In his view, the current model can no longer continue, while prolonged political confrontations affect citizens and hinder the search for solutions.
The PSD lawmaker said the priority is to build a broad parliamentary majority around a clear programme, without ultimatums or sterile conflicts. He stressed that the future Executive must be able to carry out a budget revision and ensure funding for healthcare, education and the functioning of state institutions.
Mihai Fifor acknowledged that snap elections are a democratic and constitutional procedure and said that the PSD is prepared for any legal option. However, he believes that dialogue must be exhausted before a new election is held. The party supports institutional stability and correcting the direction of governance.
