Medical assistant from Timiș, sent to trial for influence peddling

A nurse from the Psychiatric Hospital in Gataia, Timiș County, has been sent to trial for influence peddling, according to the Prosecutor's Office next to the Timiș Tribunal.

He is accused of having requested the sum of 900 euros from the relative of an admitted patient in June 2026, promising that he would intervene with the head doctor of the department to determine the continuation of the patient's hospitalization. Investigators claim that the nurse created the impression that decisions related to hospitalization can be influenced through such illegal interventions.

The act has been classified as influence peddling, and the case has been sent to the Timiș Tribunal for resolution. The nurse will be tried under judicial control, and his guilt will be established by the court.
