Marius Budăi, PSD deputy, stated that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan is being contested even from within his own party and that there is a possibility of forming a new majority without USR, which he considers responsible for the gaffes and scandals in the current government. Budăi expressed dissatisfaction with the austerity policies promoted by the government and stated that, emotionally, he would like to leave the government immediately, but he acknowledges that such a decision must be prepared carefully to avoid a political and economic crisis.
He emphasized the achievements of PSD within the government, such as blocking measures that would have led to price increases and imposing a raise in the minimum wage. Budăi warned that a sudden withdrawal could have negative effects on the economy, such as rising interest rates and unemployment. He also mentioned that PSD will not remain a prisoner of the current coalition and that the scenario of leaving the government is still on the table for discussion. Budăi criticized coalition partners for violating the Political Agreement and suggested that a new governing formula could exclude USR.
