More than six years after killing a man while driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, the son of the president of the Professional Football League remains in Italy, far from the procedural turmoil in Romania.

Mario Iorgulescu stated that, in the immediate aftermath of the accident, he went through a period of severe depression that required hospitalization in a specialized clinic. During his hospitalization, he admitted that he tried to end his life, but was saved by the intervention of doctors.

The son of the LPF president, Gino Iorgulescu, did not present himself in Romania to serve his sentence and as a consequence was added to the Romanian Police website in the "wanted persons" section.

"Life here? It's terrible. I have changed many clinics because all sorts of disasters have happened. I have been in situations where I was in clinics with people with very serious mental health issues. That is my illness too, only that it manifests sometimes positively, sometimes negatively. People need to understand. They say that the law is not respected, that my father keeps me a fugitive in Italy. First of all, I stay in Italy for treatment. I have struggled for six years, I have paid my sentence. Six years. It's enormous. What I have lived through in clinics is harder than in 'prison'. You are sedated, you don't understand anything that is happening to you."

The interview was broadcast on the show "Dan Capatos Show" on Cancan.ro
