Former Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu reacted harshly to those who, despite having criticized him in the past for the funding of the Cathedral of the Salvation of the Nation, rushed to take photos at the inauguration. In an online show, the social-democratic leader spoke about the "hypocrisy" of those who attacked him on social media, but who "didn't know how to pose properly" at the event.

At the same time, Ciolacu made a comparison between former president Klaus Iohannis, whom he accused of "stirring up trouble," and current president Nicușor Dan, whom he considers a balanced leader who does not provoke tensions in the governing coalition.
