Marcel Ciolacu, former Prime Minister and PSD leader, has called on his colleagues not to respond to political provocations following the death of Ion Iliescu. He indirectly criticized the USR for "political prudery and filth" and stressed the importance of Iliescu's legacy. USR proposed not to declare it a day of national mourning, which prompted reactions from PSD, including a message of respect from interim president Sorin Grindeanu. Ion Iliescu died at the age of 95, and his funeral will take place on August 7, a day of national mourning.
