A 58-year-old man, who escaped from an ambulance near Bacau, was caught by police after hiding in vegetation.

The man escaped on August 13 by jumping out of the window of the ambulance transporting him to Jilava Penitentiary, fleeing into an agricultural area. After his escape, search teams of police and gendarmes were mobilized and found him hiding in vegetation outside Bacău. He had a remand warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police are continuing the investigation into the escape.
