A man accused of raping and murdering a woman in his apartment in Iași has been sent to trial for qualified murder, rape, theft, and illegal access to a computer system.

The Prosecutor's Office next to the Iași Tribunal has sent a man, P.D.C., accused of qualified murder, rape, theft, and illegal access to a computer system, to trial while in preventive detention. The incident took place on May 24, 2026, when the man lured the victim, F.V., to come to his apartment, citing an urgent problem.

Once she arrived, the woman was subjected to acts of violence, being punched and stabbed twice in the thoraco-abdominal area. After the assault, the man engaged in non-consensual sexual intercourse with the victim, who was already seriously injured. Subsequently, he stole the victim's mobile phone and illegally accessed her Facebook account, sending messages to her son. The investigation was supported by the Iași County Police Inspectorate, and the case was sent to the Iași Tribunal for resolution.
