Suceava: A 31-year-old man stole a car, refused to stop at the police signal, and caused an accident. He was detained for theft and refusal to be tested.

A 31-year-old man from Humor Monastery was apprehended after stealing a car and causing an accident during a police chase. The incident occurred on February 6, 2026, when the police were alerted about the car theft. Upon intercepting the vehicle on DN 17, the driver accelerated and refused to stop, being pursued by the police crew. In the center of the municipality of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, the man suddenly braked, causing the police vehicle to collide with a building and another vehicle.

After continuing to drive, he collided with three other cars. Although he tried to flee, he was caught by the police. The man refused to undergo a breathalyzer test and provide biological samples. He was detained for 24 hours and is being investigated for theft and refusal to comply with testing. No victims were reported as a result of the incident.
