The Danube's flow in Romania decreases due to high temperatures and drought.

Specialists from the Romanian Waters Jiu have announced a significant decrease in the flow of the Danube River on Romanian territory, caused by high temperatures and prolonged drought.

At the entry into the country, at the Baziaș section, the flow has remained stable at 1850 m³/s, well below the multiannual average of 4700 m³/s for the month of July. It is estimated that the downward trend will continue, with forecasts indicating a value of 1750 m³/s during the period of July 14-20.

This situation affects transport on the Danube, which is suspended in certain areas. Specialists warn that flows can also be influenced by maneuvers carried out at dams, which may exacerbate the problem.
