Cătălin Predoiu, the Minister of Internal Affairs, announced the signing of a legislative project aimed at increasing the protection of victims of domestic violence, following some serious recent cases. The project proposes that police officers have a legal obligation to immediately present to the prosecutor those who violate a protection order or a temporary order.

This measure aims to eliminate the gaps in the police and judicial system, which have been highlighted by recent statistics. Predoiu emphasizes that the modification will strengthen the police intervention framework and ensure consistent application of the law. The project will be publicly debated and will also be analyzed by the Ministry of Justice, the co-initiator of the initiative.
