A lawyer from the Olt Bar was detained by DNA prosecutors for influence peddling, being accused of demanding and receiving money from a man, promising him the employment of himself and his wife as medical assistants at the Municipal Hospital in Caracal. Additionally, the lawyer requested 30,000 euros to exert influence over the officials responsible for hiring at the Olt County Ambulance Service. He was caught in the act while receiving 30,000 euros for himself and 1,000 euros for an accomplice. Prosecutors have initiated criminal proceedings for two counts of influence peddling in a continuous form, and the two defendants will be presented at the Craiova Court of Appeal with a proposal for preventive detention.
