A man was placed in preventive arrest for 30 days by the Bucharest Tribunal after DNA prosecutors accused him of influence peddling and incitement to influence peddling. According to investigators, he allegedly demanded a total of 105,000 euros, of which he received 54,000 euros, claiming that he could intervene with prosecutors and police officers from DNA for the favorable resolution of certain criminal cases. The flagrant took place on August 21, 2026, when the man allegedly received 10,000 euros, representing the first installment of the demanded amount. He had previously been convicted for similar offenses in three cases handled by DNA.
