For the first time since 1974, Lake Vidraru will be completely emptied for the €188 million dam modernization project. The controlled emptying, which will begin on August 1, 2025 and end on February 28, 2026, is essential for the evaluation and improvement of the hydromechanical equipment. The CEO of Hidroelectrica emphasized that this modernization will ensure more efficient energy production for 40 years.
