In an interview, the leader of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, discussed possible appointments to the leadership of SRI, mentioning that he had not had direct discussions with Nicușor Dan or colleagues from the coalition on this topic. He recalled a meeting from August-September, when Nicușor Dan proposed the names of Gabriel Zbârcea and Marius Lazurcă, but emphasized that he was not present. Hunor evaluated various candidacies, considering Cătălin Predoiu a well-prepared option, having experience in Justice and Internal Affairs.
In contrast, he expressed reservations about Mircea Abrudean and Florin Vlădică, emphasizing that he does not know them well enough to assess their competencies. Hunor stressed the importance of the knowledge and skills necessary for the leadership of SRI, highlighting that it is essential for the leader to understand the system and have the necessary autonomy.
