Judge Raluca Moroșanu has been removed from a criminal case for the second time in less than a month, after the Bucharest Court of Appeal accepted a request for her recusal. The court considered that the public statements of the magistrate, especially in the context of the Recorder scandal, could affect the perception of her impartiality. The first recusal took place on December 17, 2025, following her solidarity with another magistrate.
Recently, Moroșanu was recused from a new criminal case at the request of a defendant's lawyer, who cited the judge's public conduct. The recusal decision was supported by a panel of judges, and lawyer Toni Neacșu emphasized the importance of neutrality in criminal justice. This situation has generated reactions, including from the head of the CAB, who was surprised by Raluca Moroșanu's public behavior.
