The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued several warnings valid for the next two days, amid an episode of extreme weather.

Meteorologists announce a persistent and intense heat wave in the counties of Arad and Timiș, which are under an orange code for heat until Saturday morning. Maximum temperatures will range between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius, and thermal discomfort will be heightened, with a temperature-humidity index (THI) exceeding 80 units. At night, temperatures will not drop below 20-22 degrees, creating a tropical night.

Other regions, such as Dobrogea and Muntenia, are under a yellow code, with maximums between 31 and 37 degrees.

Along with the heat, ANM warns of atmospheric instability, with storms forecasted for Friday, between 12:00 and 23:00, in Banat, Crișana, Transylvania, and other areas. These will bring gusts of 50-70 km/h, torrential downpours, and hail.

The most severe warning concerns the mountainous area, where gusts can reach 90 km/h and water quantities can exceed 50 l/m². On Saturday, the heat will persist in Banat and Oltenia, while atmospheric instability will continue in northern Muntenia and the mountainous areas.
