On Monday evening, a serious incident occurred at the airport in Cluj-Napoca after the landing of a Ryanair plane coming from Bergamo. The pilot announced a medical emergency, stating that the co-pilot is "incapacitated". After landing, the plane remained on the runway, which led to the suspension of landings and takeoffs. The pilot was removed unconscious from the aircraft, but details about his condition are not available. Following this incident, two planes were redirected to Sibiu for refueling. The runway was later reopened, and the planes returned to Cluj, however, the return flight to Bergamo was delayed by over three hours, departing at 02:58 with a new crew arriving from Bucharest.
