The window of a Ryanair plane was broken during a flight, after a malfunction of an engine, and a passenger was briefly pulled outside.

A passenger was partially sucked out of the airplane through the window during a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, Germany, after parts of an engine reportedly detached and broke a window of the aircraft.

The Ryanair flight (FR1879) from Thessaloniki to Memmingen had to return to Greece due to a severe engine failure, which led to the breaking of a cabin window.

A 61-year-old male passenger was slightly injured and was partially sucked out of the airplane for a short time after the window broke, but was helped by other passengers to return to his seat.

The incident caused panic among the passengers, and the oxygen masks automatically dropped from the ceiling.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737-8AS, safely returned to Thessaloniki, and the man was transported to the hospital for further investigations.

Authorities activated emergency procedures upon landing, and the aircraft was parked in a special area. Ryanair sent a replacement aircraft, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the engine failure.
