The Hungarian Minister of Defense, Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, announced that fighter jets from the NATO Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) mission were scrambled at the Romanian-Hungarian border.

The incident occurred on Saturday when an Airbus A350 registered in China, which was on a flight from Hong Kong to London, failed to establish contact with air traffic controllers in Romania. The QRA jets took off at 13:51, after the alarm was raised at 13:42.

They managed to locate the Chinese aircraft near the border with Hungary, and subsequently, the plane reestablished contact with air traffic authorities. The Hungarian jets then returned to their base in Kecskemet, and the incident was handled without further complications.
