The owner of a household in Buzău County discovered an invasion of scorpions, finding four specimens inside the house and over ten around the house, in just one week.
One scorpion was found at the bottom of a freezer, and another in the sink, among dishes. The owner noticed that most specimens were located near a wall that was demolished for renovation, where the scorpions quickly hid among the stones and in the soil.
The man reported it to the Cozieni Town Hall in hopes of finding a solution. Although the Carpathian scorpion, present in the area, is not considered dangerous to humans, direct contact is advised to be avoided, especially for people with allergies. The man intends to keep one scorpion to present it to specialists for species identification.
