Horațiu Potra, his son and grandson, will remain in custody for another 30 days, after the Supreme Court rejected their requests to be placed under house arrest or released. The three were brought to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, where they tried to convince the judges of their innocence, but the prosecutors argued that they pose a public danger.
Horațiu Potra was arrested on September 24 at Dubai airport, along with his family, before departing for Moscow. He is accused of actions against the constitutional order, being tried alongside 20 other individuals, including Călin Georgescu, a former presidential candidate. Potra requested repatriation from Dubai to attend the trial, wanting to prove his innocence.
