The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, reacts after the DNA searches at ARR, targeting Cristian Anton. Grindeanu hopes that Anton is innocent.

Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, had a first reaction on Tuesday, after the searches carried out by DNA at the Romanian Road Authority (ARR), where Cristian Anton, his former chief of staff, is targeted in a corruption case. Grindeanu stated: "Whoever does not respect the law should pay. I personally wish for him to be innocent."

Anti-corruption prosecutors raided ARR, investigating 12 suspects, including Anton, for corruption offenses such as bribery, influence peddling, and forming an organized criminal group. It is suspected that they received bribes between 600 and 1500 euros to facilitate the obtaining of the professional certificates required for drivers. During the searches, 50,000 euros in cash were found at Anton's home in Bucharest and boxes of money in Timișoara, suspected to have come from bribes offered by drivers. The money will be seized and confiscated by prosecutors.
