The government has decided to abolish the allowances for members of the Territorial Public Order Authorities (ATOP), saving about 22 million lei per year.

The measure, approved by the Government, aims to reduce administrative costs and will take effect on August 1, 2025. ATOP members, who had an advisory role, were receiving variable allowances, but without a uniform criteria, reaching significant amounts in some counties. The abolition of these allowances will generate savings of 6.8 million lei by 2025, thus contributing to the efficiency of local public services.
