The government has decided to bring forward the implementation of electronic bracelets to monitor people involved in domestic violence.

The amendment to the law on electronic monitoring provides for the implementation of electronic bracelets for people accused of domestic violence, under judicial control or house arrest, starting October 1, 2024. State Secretary Bogdan Despescu announced that so far, 9168 people are being monitored under judicial control and 1288 under house arrest.
