George Simion accuses CNA of censorship after the withdrawal of Realitatea Plus's license

The leader of AUR reacted vehemently after the decision of the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) to withdraw the license of the Realitatea Plus channel. In a message posted on Facebook, Simion stated that this action represents a continuation of a "coup d'état," referring to the cancellation of the first round of the presidential elections in 2024. He emphasized that Realitatea Plus was the "only major television that allowed us to speak," accusing the CNA of censorship.

The withdrawal of the license was determined by the non-payment of 28 fines from 2024, totaling 605,000 lei, according to the report presented in the CNA meeting. Although Realitatea Plus paid the fines for 2025, the non-payment of previous debts led to the closure of the channel. Mircea Toma, a CNA member, mentioned that the institution had warned the TV channel as early as February regarding its debts.
