Devices from the Ministry of National Defense and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations are searching for the remains of the drone shot down in Buzău, announced the Chief of the Defense Staff, Gheorghiță Vlad. He emphasized that so far only remnants of the F-16 missile that hit the drone have been found.
“Until the start of this conference, we had knowledge about the remnants of the F-16 missile, partially about the one used by our Italian colleagues. However, I have no details about the location where the remains of the downed drone have crashed,” the Chief of the Defense Staff stated during a press conference, according to News.ro.
The general mentioned that “the combat range was a maximum of 25 kilometers between the two events.”
The commander of the operation, General Gheorghe Maxim, said that the Italian pilots “engaged the target” west of the Danube, at Brăila, a few minutes before being engaged by the F-16, but they missed the target.
