The spokesperson for the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs stated that drone incursions into the airspace of Romania and the Republic of Moldova are 'unacceptable', in the context of the war in Ukraine. France reaffirms its support for both countries and collaborates with partners in the European Union and NATO to strengthen air defense.
Romania has had several recent incidents involving Russian drones, the latest occurring two days ago, when fighter aircraft were scrambled from Mihail Kogălniceanu and Fetești bases to intercept targets. Residents of Galați, Tulcea, and Vrancea were warned via RO-Alert messages, and an unarmed explosive drone was found crashed in Vaslui County, about 50 km from the border with the Republic of Moldova.
