The promise to build the Craiova-Pitești high-speed road, made by the Tăriceanu government in 2007 to attract Ford, was only honored after 18 years. Although the original deadline was 2016, work started in 2019 and now, in 2025, the last 12 km have been opened, completing a 470 km route. The highway will allow the rapid transportation of vehicles to the Port of Constanta, with a total length of 121.18 km, divided into four lots, with successive openings between 2022-2025.
