In July 2026, veterinary sanitary inspectors conducted 10,201 inspections in the food products sector, applying 228 contraventional sanctions, with a total value of 2,027,800 lei.
The main irregularities found were related to non-compliance with hygiene standards, the condition of equipment, and the storage of products. ANSVSA emphasizes the importance of complying with legal requirements for food safety, and the president of the institution, Dr. Alexandru Nicolae Bociu, stated that control actions are essential for protecting consumers. Among the identified non-compliances are the lack of health documents for staff, deficiencies in the implementation of HACCP procedures, and labeling issues.
ANSVSA will continue to monitor the food sector and encourages consumers to report irregularities through the institution's Call Center.
