On Tuesday afternoon, a serious accident occurred on European road 85, between the localities of Sârca and Bălțați, resulting in the death of two people. The incident involved a BMW car and a truck. Witnesses claim that the 36-year-old BMW driver made a dangerous overtaking on a continuous line, colliding with the truck that was coming from the opposite direction. Following the impact, both the driver and a 19-year-old girl in the car died. The 55-year-old truck driver escaped unharmed. Firefighters and ambulances, including a SMURD helicopter, intervened at the scene. Traffic in the area was restricted, and the police will investigate the circumstances of the accident. Traffic could be resumed around 5:30 PM.
