A tragic accident occurred in the yard of a construction materials warehouse in Arad, where a woman was fatally struck by a forklift. The incident took place on January 23, 2026, around 12:30 PM, when a 49-year-old man, under the influence of alcohol, hit the woman while maneuvering the equipment. Testing with specialized devices showed an alcohol concentration of 0.30 mg/l in the exhaled air. The police opened a criminal case for manslaughter, and the man was detained for 24 hours, being taken to a medical unit for biological sample collection.
