On Monday morning, the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) launched two F-16 aircraft and an IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter after radars detected intermittent signals in the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, in the Cahul area, near the border with Romania.

The first signals were observed around 6:00 AM, and the population of Târgu Bujor, Galați County, was alerted via a RO-Alert message at 6:12 AM. MApN did not provide details about the nature of the signals or whether objects on the ground were identified.

The alert comes after the discovery of drone fragments in the Black Sea, including one with explosive payload, which was neutralized by divers.
