Orange code for storms on Monday in Bucharest and 13 counties / Which areas are affected

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a severe weather alert on Monday for 13 counties and Bucharest, valid from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Torrential rains, medium and large hail, as well as strong gusts of wind of 70-90 km/h are expected.

The affected areas include most of Moldova, the north and center of Muntenia, the north of Dobrogea, and parts of the Southern and Eastern Carpathians.

Thus, under an orange code for significant torrential downpours, strong gusts of wind, and medium to possibly large hail, the counties of Suceava, Iași, Neamț, Vaslui, Bacău, Vrancea, Buzău, Prahova, Dâmbovița, Ilfov, Tulcea, as well as some areas of the counties of Argeș and Brașov and in the municipality of Bucharest are included.

At the same time, a yellow code is also in effect on Monday, between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, regarding atmospheric instability, significant torrential downpours, wind intensifications, and gusts in the counties of Botoșani, Harghita, Covasna, Galați, Brăila, Constanța, Ialomița, Călărași, Giurgiu, Teleorman, Argeș, and partially in the counties of Vâlcea, Sibiu, Brașov, Mureș, Bistrița-Năsăud.

The gusts will affect the southeast of the country and the sea

Additionally, on the night of Monday to Tuesday (July 20/21), in Dobrogea, in most of Muntenia, and locally in the Southern Carpathians, there will be periods of atmospheric instability manifested by significant torrential downpours, electrical discharges, and wind intensifications (gust speeds of 50...70 km/h). In short intervals (1...3 hours), the amounts of water will be 15...20 l/m² and isolated over 30 l/m².

On Tuesday, at 9:00 PM, between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, a yellow code for atmospheric instability, significant torrential downpours, wind intensifications, and gusts will be in effect in the counties of Argeș, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Buzău, Vrancea, Galați, Brăila, Tulcea, Constanța, Călărași, Ialomița, Ilfov, Giurgiu, Teleorman, partially in Vâlcea, and also in the municipality of Bucharest.
