EximBank said that the lease of the new premises was made in accordance with the law and economic efficiency criteria, the choice being based on expert assessments. The bank emphasized that in the context of the scandal, it had paid a higher rent through a private company, but justified this by lower costs in the long term. The prime minister called for the bank's director to be replaced, while EximBank said it had complied with all legal regulations and that no illegality had been found by the authorities.
