A judge from the Bucharest Court of Appeal has decided to annul several witness statements and some evidence from the case in which Călin Georgescu is being tried for alleged actions against the constitutional order. The court found that the statements were given by individuals who later became suspects or defendants, which is why they were declared null and ordered their removal from the case, including the media on which the recordings of the hearings were stored.
The decision was pronounced by judge Mihai Paul Cozma, who established that prosecutors have five days to decide whether to maintain the referral to trial or request the return of the case. The case was handled by prosecutors from the General Prosecutor's Office, and among the defendants is also Horațiu Potra, along with several members of his group.
