The European Commission has confirmed that EU airports equipped with new explosives detection systems can waive the 100ml limit for liquids in hand luggage. The measure, which could be implemented soon, comes after restrictions have been in place for 18 years. Although some airports in Italy and other countries have already started using the equipment, not all EU airports are equipped with the technology. Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport will impose temporary restrictions starting September 1, 2024, again limiting liquids to 100 ml.
