Environment Minister Mircea Fechet believes that chasing and relocating bears are "tools" that do not seem to be working, in order to keep these wild animals away from populated areas and away from attacking people.

The official believes that any bear that enters a locality and endangers human life should be shot, regardless of the harvest quota, which "can be revised".
