Environment Minister Mircea Fechet announced intensified forest fire prevention measures, including satellite monitoring and patrols in vulnerable counties

Environment Minister Mircea Fechet said he will start permanent monitoring of forests by satellite images and will intensify patrols in the counties most vulnerable to forest fires, such as Caras-Severin, Gorj, Mehedinți, Dolj and Timis. All local fire defense plans will be checked and reactivated and citizens, especially farmers and tourists, will be informed about the risks of using fire near forests. Fechet emphasizes the importance of individual responsibility in fire prevention and announces awareness campaigns to protect the environment.
