Enery has begun the construction of the largest hybrid photovoltaic park in Romania, located in Ogrezeni, Giurgiu County, with an estimated investment of 460 million euros. The project will have an installed capacity of 761 MW and will include a 1 GWh battery energy storage system, scheduled to become operational in the fall of next year.
Liviu Gavrilă, country manager of Enery Romania, stated that once completed, it could become the largest hybrid project in Europe. Additionally, the president of the Giurgiu County Council, Toma Petcu, mentioned that two major data center developers, one American and one European, are interested in developing such centers in the county, in the context of expanding photovoltaic projects with storage. Discussions with these investors will continue in the coming period.
