Bogdan Badea, the interim general director of Hidroelectrica, emphasized the negative impact of excessive bureaucracy and legislative changes on the activities of state companies and their relationship with investors.
During the "Upgrade Romania" conference, Badea highlighted the necessity for representatives of Romanian companies to convince investment funds to invest in Romania, instead of directing their attention to other markets. He mentioned a recent decision by the Constitutional Court that declared unconstitutional an article from OUG 109 regarding the representation expenses of management. Badea argued that, in order to attract investments, it is essential for the state to ensure adequate remuneration for officials and not to treat companies as budgetary institutions. He emphasized that Romania has economic potential, but a serious reform in corporate governance is necessary.
