The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated that the Romanian state should implement measures to mitigate the impact of the rising diesel prices, in the context of the continuous increase in the price of oil barrels on international markets. Ivan explained that for every 10 dollar increase in the price of a barrel, the price of diesel rises by approximately 45 bani at the pump. He emphasized the need for state intervention by reducing the excise tax to maintain affordable prices for the population. Additionally, the minister assured that Romania is not facing a fuel shortage, but only a problem related to prices. Refineries in the country are operating at maximum capacity, and Romania continues to import petroleum products, having diversified trade routes. Ivan mentioned that our country has adapted more quickly than others to the current challenges.
