An emergency situation was triggered in the locality of Cioranii de Jos in Prahova, where nearly 100 people were evacuated from their homes after a tanker loaded with 30 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) overturned on the road.
The accident occurred near residential areas, and the driver lost control of the steering wheel, causing widespread panic. Authorities responded quickly, mobilizing rescue teams and specialists in hazardous materials management.
Evacuations were carried out within a one-kilometer radius, and people were sheltered in sports halls set up for emergencies. Raed Arafat, head of DSU, stated that the risk of explosion was minor, but that the transfer of the fuel posed dangers. The fuel transfer operation lasted nearly 12 hours, and after the danger was eliminated, residents were able to return home.
