A fragment of a drone was discovered today, August 21, near the southern dyke of the Port of Midia, Constanța County, and was recovered by military divers of the Romanian Naval Forces.
The Ministry of National Defense intervened after the object was reported via a call to 112.
According to the checks carried out, it was confirmed that the fragment does not present an explosive charge, thus eliminating any danger to public safety.
The object was observed floating about 25 meters from the shore.
After recovery, the piece was handed over to the Coast Guard for further investigation.
The ministry mentioned that it is possible that the object is a piece detached from an unmanned aerial vehicle, but this information has not been confirmed.
The EOD crew was sent to the area to assess the situation and ensure the safety of operations.
