According to IPJ Neamț, a 58-year-old woman called 112 to report threats from her son-in-law, who said he would put their lives in danger if his wife and their three children did not return home. The police assessed the situation and issued three temporary protection orders, finding an imminent danger.
The man, a legal holder of a hunting weapon, was located in Hangu, where the police, together with SAS fighters, attempted to communicate the protection orders to him. When asked to open the door, the man fired at the intervention forces. In response, the police shot at him, seriously wounding him.
Although medical crews were called, the man was declared dead. The prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Neamț Tribunal was informed about the incident.
