Primary physician at the Medical Expertise Institute, arrested for bribery just a month after a final conviction

The Prosecutor's Office next to the Alba Tribunal announced the initiation of criminal proceedings against the primary physician Adrian Ienea, suspected of taking bribes in a continuous form, in a state of recidivism.

Adrian Ienea, who works within the National Institute of Medical Expertise and Work Capacity Recovery, is accused of having received sums of money from six individuals, between 100 and 600 euros, for fulfilling his official duties, between January 26 and 28, 2026. The prosecutor proposed his preventive arrest, and the judge accepted the proposal. Ienea was previously sentenced, in 2025, to two years and six months of suspended prison for similar offenses, and the sanction became final in January 2026.
